Run the AMC lifter (#998), with the EDM'd oil hole in the lifter face. If you're worried about too much oil passing thru the pushrods, run pushrods with solid tips.My general rule of thumb to be OK w/ a relatively low RPM engine (under 8k) A simple rule is anything greater than 15% of the over all valve length times the diameter you should be fine for a good straight guide. Forget about torque, find peak on the dyno, get a converter 800-1000 below peak, shift 1st 4-500 below peak, second 4-500 over peak and 600-800 over at finish line. With that said, some of the newer engines are going through the lights at 1000-1200 over peak. And extremely FAST.

Ferrea describes a "20%" weight savings. That's a lot - ~30g. on a 2.25" intake. That would put it at ~120g versus ~150g for a conventional valve and mid 90g range for Ti. So, it splits the difference. I don't have the numbers, but I doubt the smaller stem diameter saves nearly that much weight. Richard.
