My guess is that it's a remote installed unit based on the R7. The low end of K band range is 24.050. That makes it closer to the R3 than the R7 which has a lower end of 23.950. It may offer front and rear antennas but nothing yet seems to indicate that.It's a newer RD, better range and features, and can connect with Unidens jammers coming out later on. R8 if you can afford it. R7 for bang for the buck. R8 because R7 does not have Bluetooth and the apps are awesome. Just bought the R8. Best buy price matched Amazon for $640.
