xplorer 300 charging problems. I have a 1998 xplorer 300 which has been discharging the battery. Taking some readings here is what i have noticed. When it is first started, the voltage reads mid 12-13 volts at idle and 13-14 volts at 3000-4000 rpms. When I got it it did not run, but with alot of work I have gotten it running but not very well, or not in my opinion. Fist thing I noticed is the electric start did not work,I found the power wire broken at the starter, new terminal fixed that. two adjkustments on throttle cable, one on the etc box at thubm throttle , the other on top of carb on the two strokes, as long as there is still adjustment at both ends and you have 1/8 inch of sack at thumb throttle it is ok, choke adjustment,I cant remember if there is one on two strokes, if there is it will be towards the middle of the cable.1998 Xplorer will not start. I have a 1998 Polaris Xplorer that up until recently has been running great. The other day my son used it and said it seemed to be running very rich and the idle was very eradic. Today I tried to start it and it would not even fire. I pulled off the carb and dissassembled it and cleaned everything.
