Try cleaning the inside of the magazine and confirm the follower moves freely along the entire length of the body.I just bought a new M11A1 and when getting it home, I noticed that it had P229 grips instead of P228 grips (which is what it's supposed to have). Yes, the gun is "more" P229 than P228, but the whole point is that this is supposed to be "true-er" to the military M11. And that means P228 grips.
