May 15, 2019 · I searched the forums for a posting on the Hatfield didn't find any. I spent a lot of time reading reviews, watching videos and pondering the Hatfield Semi Auto Shotgun 12 Guage. Yes, Hatfield shotguns are generally considered to be good guns. They offer reliable performance and are known for their affordability compared to other shotgun brands. The semi-autos had some bad ratings at first but have been much better of recent times. My friend owns a gun shop and has sold many Charles Daly field semi-autos because of the lower price range as well KBI excellent service practices. When this shotgun came out years ago some of the early guns did have problems, especially the 12ga's.I do not own one, but did a lot of research on them since Walmart has the semi-auto .410 for $249 dollars. I like sub-gauge shotguns. From what I can tell, the 12 and 20ga guns perform decently. The 28 and .410's have pretty bad reviews. Enough so that I didn't get one.
